How is the design fee calculated?

Our design fees are tailored to each project based on scope, complexity, and size of the space. After the initial consultation, we provide a custom proposal that is tailored to your project.

Can I be involved in the design process?

Yes, we strongly encourage this. We invite you into the process as much as you'd like. It’s your space, and we want you to feel fully aligned with the design.

Do you work with existing furniture or do I need to buy all new pieces?

It depends on the project and brief scope. We tend to choose furniture that aligns best with our project. If you, as a client, amass to use your own existing furniture, we will incorporate this as much as possible.

Do you offer turnkey services, including construction?

Yes, we do. We collaborate with trusted contractors and artisans, offering a full turnkey service—from construction to renovation to final styling and décor.

How do you select materials and furnishings for projects?

We tend to work contextually and with natural and warm materials. It’s not to say that we avoid any artificial materials like tile or vinyl—we just tend to work more natural as it is more sustainable, more tactile, and less harmful. The materials also very much relate to our concept, so it’s all really tied together.

Timelines & Process

How long does it take to complete a design project?

Timelines vary depending on scale. This is dependent on project complexity, what your needs are as a client, what the scope of the project is, and if there is a project manager. What stage you’re starting at—is this a greenfield or a staged project—many different influences create vastly different timelines. This can be projected and proposed in a custom proposal.

What is the initial consultation process like?

Initially, we have a call just to do the initial consultation and idea gathering. Here is where we get a sense of what your needs are. We then meet on-site or in a meeting room to discuss more in-depth outcomes. This is to refine the concept you’d like to see, your inspirations, and your ideas of what the design could be. We really take into consideration your personality, your needs, and your experience that you’d like to create.

What happens after the project is completed?

Once the project is completed, we do a final walkthrough with you, ensure all areas are up to the agreed upon design. We have a 2 week allowance for clients to use the space after completion and comment on any snag for us to review and ensure aligns with the overall design and working documents. We also offer ongoing styling services, so if you ever need adjustments or updates a additionally agreement can be reached for this long term assistance.

Project management

What does project management entail?

Project management can be divided into two options for our clients. A basic on site management of installers or an in-depth project management of all other specialist.  How do you manage all other specialists.  
We work hand in hand with project management consultancies to achieve this and ensure a wholistic project outcome. When working with a consultancy we ensure to guide clients to the best project managers that would suit the overall project outcome.  What does a basic onsite management entail.  
for this service we ensure that all services aligned with our services are delivered in a timely manner managing our budgets to ensure that the service outlined in the agreement stay on track.

Procurement & Sourcing

Do you provide procurement services

Yes, we provide procurement services for our clients, this is treated as a separate agreement from our initial contract with separate goals and outcomes to ensure that we provide our clients with the correct services.

What does the procurement process entail?

It starts with a BOQ that is developed in our Construction drawings phase. This outlines each items as per the agreement, whether this is FF&E only, Finishes, or Front of house OS&E. From this BOQ an order slip is generated together with a invoice for the needed amounts which is then sent to client for sign off. Upon receiving these signed documents purchases start with the needed admin tracked in the background for client records.

Where do my goods get delivered?

Delivery can be arranged to any site as agreed upon. If client is shipping products across borders a central loading & storage facility will be arranged. If a local site is the final destination orders are done systematically to ensure products arrive on site when needed in a pre-planned program.

What is the difference between Sourcing & Procurement

Procurement is the actual purchase and acquisition of products presented in our presentations and BOQs to clients. Where sourcing is the process of finding what we suggest best for the design, whether this is from a high end store or a local founders market, our team ensures to search and research the right products for the final design proposed.

Art, Styling & Operational styling

What does Art & Styling Guidance entail:

This refers to the type of art that is used in the space, whether it is box framed, tapestry hung or simple canvas art, these all add different qualities to a space and requires special thinking and consideration for a space to be effectively incorporated. Styling refers to loose objects in the space varying from vases to sculptures to bone beads in a  bowl. We consider what is contextual and most aligns with the overall design objective.

What does Art & Styling services include?

It can range from us only dictating where art should be mounted to exactly what art should be used and what frame should be used. We have a collection of artists that we work with to achieve our desired goals for a project.

Do you commission art works?

Yes, we have artists that we work with to create custom art for clients in a style that best suites the project outcomes. These artists range from visual & graphic artists to clay potters.

What is operational styling?

It is the finer detail of the front of house process. It is the type of salt bowl and pepper spoon and how the specific wine glass compliments the whiskey tumblr. It is the final touches of how the fork was tucked into a napkin and what that napkin would be.

Guest Experience and Narratives

What is guest narrative?

It is the build up of their overall experience, it start from the moment of their arrival building up to a  peak of enjoyment that needs to simmer down to conclude their experience on a high note. It is the story we take the clients through without them knowing.

How do you develop Guest experiences and narratives?

We use the client brief, the design concept and the food & beverage concept to develop Emotionally evocative moments, these moments leave a lasting memory with guests that turn into a wholistic experience once you combine all of the small moments together.
